I went to the Doctor this morning and everything synched perfectly with my planned agenda for the day…that is if we ignore the fact, that I did not hear the alarm this morning and woke up 25 minutes before my scheduled appointment🙄 but I still managed to swallow my pills (cheers🥂), jump into some clothes, brush my teeth and finger comb my hair. When I arrived at the Doctor’s rooms, I was surprised with a cheerful “Good morning” from my favourite nurse, back from her holiday and a fist pump from my Doctor👊. Within 5 minutes after my arrival I was already seated at a cubicle, waiting to be tested.

First up, was the customary poking with a needle, draining my precious blood into multiple glass vials, ready to be sent to the lab. In no time, I was on a treadmill in my sporty black sneakers, patched, wired and ready to…walk, not too briskly and at a slight incline🙄…because of no cross ligaments in my left knee, a thin string of leftover muscle in my left calf and a considerate Doctor, knowing that just having my own two legs and being able to walk, is sort of an accomplishment already…BTW lugging this fat ass around, for 3 minutes on a treadmill, even when only walking uphill at a slightly faster pace, is more than enough exercise to make me sweat like a pig, pant like a heavy breather and make my heart bounce around like a rubber ball when you drop it!🥵 But…I survived the 3 minutes and the nurse could not disguise her surprise when she saw a healthy heart rate, healthy sugar and cholesterol levels and a pretty normal blood pressure form someone like me…I can’t understand, how someone that’s overweight, who considers getting dressed as an exercise routine and tomato sauce as a legitimate vegetable…can score such a normal average on medical tests 🤣

After quite a tiring day, I finally arrived home. It’s 9am, I am dressed and can see a loooooong day ahead.🙄 Maybe a bit of retail therapy will cheer me up, so I start thinking about all the things I can buy, that’s completely worthless and not needed. 🤔 Maybe a cell phone?? After a sobering conversation with myself, I had to agree that “because I’m bored with this one” is not a good argument in any debate. Hah! Ok. Then I shall get a closed, tempered glass, magnetic cover for my phone.😏 Funky AF and protecting your phone at the same time! As I start Googling to see where I can find one, my screen gets flooded with flashing Black Friday ads on every website I visit…What’s the date today? Ahhh Man! Dammit, now it’s even unsafe to go to the local supermarket for bread and milk. Oh well, the laptop is open so I might as well have a look to see whether the online clothing sites have new stock…🙄 Nothing new since I last checked and then I see a category “Face Covers and Masks“. Awww, its the cutest facemasks in a variety of colours, styles, materials and co-ord sets! 😲 The sets are masks and scrunchies, masks & beanies, masks & scarves, gloves, earrings and anything you can possibly imagine that will match a mask! Some of their outfits, even comes with a matching mask in the same material…Wow! If anyone told me about this category and our current situation a year ago, I would have laughed it off and remarked that it sounds like a low budget, apocalyptic movie…those with random scenes of naked boobs and shitty dialogue😂

What a nice surprise this day turned out to be, not as bad as I imagined…I was preparing for a major bitch fight and expected the usual antagonistic attitude from the Doctor’s staff, but instead, I arrived at an empty, quiet waiting room and getting my favourite nurse in a good mood after a well deserved holiday! I think it’s safe to say, that this has been my best Black Friday experience ever! I am convinced, the Doctor’s rooms were so empty and quiet on a Friday, due to so many people doing some Black Friday retail therapy, before they remembered they are actually supposed to be sick and will need a Doctor’s note on Monday! 😂

The day, dare I say, has been good…thus far.
